Healthcare AI

From Diagnosis to Decision: How AI is Transforming Clinical Care in Africa

A compelling examination of how intelligent decision support systems are enabling specialist-level diagnostic accuracy in low-resource African healthcare environments — and what this means for the future of the continent's health infrastructure.

Why generic AI fails in African clinical settings — and how context-aware AI solves this
The evidence base for AI-driven clinical decision support at scale
A practical pathway for healthcare organizations beginning their AI journey
30–60 min

Intelligent Systems

Building AI Systems That Actually Work: From Research to Deployment

Most AI projects fail not because of bad algorithms, but because of a broken pipeline between research and real-world deployment. This talk demystifies what it actually takes to move intelligent systems from lab to live production.

The five most common failure points in AI deployment — and how to avoid them
Designing AI systems that are technically sound AND institutionally adoptable
Lessons from two decades of applied AI deployment in Africa and beyond
45–75 min

Data Strategy

The Data-Driven Institution: Making Intelligence Your Competitive Advantage

Organizations are drowning in data while starving for insight. This talk presents a strategic framework for transforming institutional data into genuine decision intelligence — closing the gap between data collection and organizational performance.

The difference between being data-rich and being intelligence-driven
Building the data infrastructure that makes organizational AI possible
Three executive decisions that can accelerate your institution's AI readiness
30–45 min

Women in AI Leadership

Breaking the Algorithm: Women, AI, and the Future of Intelligent Systems

A powerful examination of why diversity in AI is not a moral nicety but a technical necessity — and how women leaders in the AI space are building more robust, fairer, and more impactful intelligent systems as a result.

Why AI systems built by homogeneous teams reflect and amplify societal biases
The evidence for diversity as an AI quality multiplier
Practical mentorship and pipeline-building strategies that actually work
30–60 min

Emerging Economies

Africa's AI Moment: Context-Aware Intelligence for the Global South

The constraints that define AI work in African contexts — limited data, fragmented infrastructure, resource scarcity — are generating some of the most innovative methodological approaches in global AI. This talk argues that Africa is not behind — it is leading a different, arguably more important, AI frontier.

Why the next breakthrough in AI methodology will come from resource-constrained contexts
How African AI researchers are solving problems that Western labs have ignored
A vision for AI development that serves all of humanity, not just the data-rich world
45–60 min

Explainable AI

Trust by Design: Why Explainable AI is Non-Negotiable in High-Stakes Environments

In healthcare, justice, and financial services, AI recommendations affect human lives. This talk makes the ethical and technical case for explainability as a core design requirement — not an optional add-on.

The explainability spectrum: from feature importance to causal reasoning
Why black-box AI in clinical settings is an unacceptable patient safety risk
Building explainability into AI systems from day one — a practical framework
30–45 min
